Why Prescription Drugs are Not the Answer to the Long-Term Treatment of Chronic Pain
October 7, 2012   |   By Eric Owens

Many people who have chronic pain often find themselves taking prescription drugs in an effort to control their symptoms (pain). There are two major problems with this solution. The first problem is that prescription drugs may control their symptoms in certain cases, but often times do not get at the root cause of the problem. The second problem is the possibility of dependency, unwanted side effects and no long-term relief.

At Delos, we believe that pain is actually the body’s built-in alarm system that is there to stop us from performing an action that may cause even more serious damage. Taking prescription drugs is the same as disconnecting the alarm system in a house where there is a burning fire. By masking the pain in our body, we are avoiding the cause of the problem and potentially causing more damage as we go along. At Delos, we aim to treat the root cause of the problem, which we believe are congested muscle tissue and fascia.
